diabetes, midlife hypertension, midlife obesity, smoking and physical inactivity.
The current understanding of the existing biopsychosocial literature on Dementias and related
conditions in New Zealand is scant. This systematic review synthesizes existing biopsychosocial and
cultural literature available on dementias in New Zealand. It is anticipated this review will provide
important insights into what research has been undertaken to date which should provide significant
leads to future research direction.
